Whether you’re coming to MIFF to get a peek into the world of film making or you’re in the industry and looking to broaden your knowledge, MIFF09’s 3 Industry Workshops have been picked to cover as much as we can in a weekend. From cutting-edge camera packages to the barebones of just knowing how to make a film that can be delivered to the world, to the way music video production works in Canada, we thought these 3 workshops would be a serious benefit for anyone trying to ‘get lucky’ in an industry that demands everyone to be an expert jack- of-all-trades. Thought about shooting on the RED Camera? Shot with it already and want to know more? This is the workshop for you. Cinematographer and RED owner operator Gregor Hagey hosts this extremely informative session on everything RED. Over the past 16 years, Gregor Hagey has completed nearly 200 projects as a Director of Photography. His body of work includes features, documentaries, music videos, commercials, and shorts. Presently, Gregor is shooting 2nd Unit for the CBS/CTV series, Flashpoint. Before that, he lensed Rob Stefaniuk’s latest feature, Suck — which guest-stars Malcolm McDowell, Alice Cooper, Moby, Iggy Pop, and Henry Rollins. He garnered 2 CSC nominations in 2009 for his work on the series, Mayday: Fatal Distraction, and the music video, In My Arms, for the Randy Rogers Band. He also has 2 commercials submitted to both Cannes and the Bessies this year, both helmed by Alex Ogus. Gregor was an early adopter of the Red One Camera in Toronto. As an expert on the Red Camera he has been invited to speak at seminars and workshops across Canada. Gregor and his brother Morning will even be bringing a RED Camera rig with them, so you can get an even better idea of the camera itself. |

Hi: I wanted to buy tickets in person, but do not see where I go to get the tickets…
Hey Ruth!
All you need to do is go to the Box Office at the CineStars Theatre in Central Parkway Mall; it’s just beside the McDonalds. The MIFF Team is at the counter and they’ll help you out!
See you this weekend!
~Matt
